Here at GHC we have three Ladies teams playing across two local leagues. Below, we will introduce you to each team and their captains. If you have an interest in playing for any of the Ladies teams, please reach out to the relevant contacts in the Contact Us section.
Ladies 1st
The GHC Ladies 1st XI have been a force to be reckoned with over the last couple of seasons. With a strong forward line and some stellar goal scorers, the team has gone from strength to strength after being promoted a couple of years ago (following on from a mega undefeated streak). Emma Harris leads the Ladies’ 1st XI in the West Women’s Division 2 – Central.
Ladies 2nds
With experienced Captain, Katie Barlow at the helm and Joanne Butler as Vice, the Ladies 2nd XI have come on leaps and bounds welcoming some upcoming players from the 3rds to help them in their development as players. Keen to get going again, the Ladies 2nds hope to keep on scoring (they are known for huge home wins!) and racking up the points.
Ladies 3rds
The Ladies 3rds team have helped to develop some of the younger club members in both their skill and confidence – without the 3rds those who want to take the leap into competitive hockey would be thrown in at the deep end! A team whose aim is to enjoy every game regardless of result, they have an infectious joy for the game. Inspirational captain Sophie Davies is ready to make an impression with a strong side this year. They always have strong half time snack game as well…
